I first heard Dr. Simkovich speak at an autism conference about helping kids on the spectrum with anything from food allergies to becoming verbal for the first time. He got my attention but I put it in the back of my mind because I had my son (who was nine at the time and diagnosed with PDD-NOS) involved in so many other therapies, a special diet, and with a handful of supplemental nutrients that I couldn’t possibly take on one more thing. Why my son entered 4th grade, his simple tics such as eye blinking suddenly turned into more complex tics to the extent that some thought he had cerebral palsy. I remembered Dr. Simkovich’s lecture and even though he was over 40 minutes away, I thought it was worth a try to see if he could help him with his tics. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made for not only was Dr. Simkovich able to reduce his tics initially, he later was able to eradicate them. The therapy also improved his reading comprehension, but the icing on the cake for me was his improvement in language as far as being more talkative and conversational. Since we were driving the distance anyway, I started the therapy also with my six year old son boy who was having some learning difficulties in school. As a result of the therapy, my son was able to focus more readily in school and his decoding and comprehension abilities improved significantly. Dr. Simkovich (or “Dr. Charlie” as my sons like to call him) has been more than a blessing to our family and we will always be grateful for his expertise in his specialized cranial treatment as well as his amazing connection with kids, especially those on the autistic spectrum.
