"I came to see Dr. Simkovich 8 years after being diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. This horrible condition has affected every aspect of my life — work, play, sleep, driving, social gatherings, etc. I was coping for 8 years only through careful managing of sound (ear plugs), light (so many hats and sunglasses), taking frequent breaks during work (good for anyone, but I had always been able to power through work days), way too much naproxen, and avoiding a lot of things I used to love: listening to music, reading, socializing with family & friends. That's not really living.
